The NJ Early Care and Education Alliance provides a forum for New Jersey's child advocates to examine local and national issues in the field of early care and education, and expand advocacy efforts as appropriate.
Since its formation in late 2009, the Alliance has met monthly to focus on the most relevant and timely issues that affect early childhood, early care professionals, children, and their families. Their work has included reviewing the proposed state budget; preparing testimony; and determining related advocacy strategies.
Membership includes CCANJ, community-based providers, state representatives, Children's Futures, Advocates for Children of New Jersey, the Council of Infant Toddler Educators, the School-Age Care Coalition, the Department of Education, the Department of Children and Families, and representatives from county government, and the public and private sector.
